This videotape focuses on training a puppy for work as an Assistance Dog for a child with autism or related challenges.  Selection of appropriate temperament is explored, and training techniques to promote bonding, shadowing, and tracking are shared.  This tape is available for a suggested donation of $25 which includes shipping and handling.

NORTHERN LIGHTS

This videotape documents several therapists that incorporate North Star dogs within their programs.  It contains footage of sessions with a behavioral therapist, speech therapist and physical therapist working with children with developmental disorders and their North Star dogs.  This tape is available for a suggested donation of $25 which includes shipping and handling.

Facing the North Wind (New/Available January, 2004)

This videotape explores ways a North Star dog can help a child deal with loss or to adjust to a difficult transition. Animal-Assisted Therapy is discussed and a psychologist is interviewed about how a parent can use a well bred and well trained dog to gently help a child to cope. This tape is available for a suggested donation of $25.

THE GOLDEN BRIDGE

This book can help parents of children who face special challenges decide whether to acquire a program trained dog or to select and train their own dog with the help of a trainer.  The pros and cons of both methods are explored, and referrals and recommended websites are listed.  This book is available for a suggested donation of $10 in its CD ROM version, and $25 for a hardcopy.
