At North
Star Foundation, we believe our nonprofit status is at the very heart of
our endeavor. Many families with children who face special
challenges are struggling both financially and emotionally to provide for
them. North Star dogs are placed with families based upon a sliding scale
when funds are available to mitigate their disability or ease the pain associated
with a trauma or a loss.
Due to
the nature of the intensive and specific training each dog receives, along
with the considerable follow up services we provide,
money is greatly needed to support these placements. Clients on our waiting
list now include a young boy with Down's syndrome, a foster child who has
been recently adopted, and a family with two autistic children. Your generous
contribution will reduce the time they must spend on the waiting list which
we struggle to keep short. Your money can
help a child who faces a challenge to meet his or her social, emotional
and educational needs. All donations are tax deductible
as well as greatly appreciated. $25 Your donation of
$25 helps to purchase an identifying North Star vest, which allow North Star dogs to
accompany their children in public and minimize public access issues.
$50 Your donation of
$50 feeds a North Star pup for 3 months. $75 Your donation of $75 covers the cost of training equipment and toys for a litter of
North Star puppies. Your donation of
$100 pays for the spaying or neutering a North Star dog. Your donation of
$250 pays for the average cost of a training class for a North Star dog.
Please
consider sponsoring an individual child. Several children from
families that require deep subsidies are currently waiting for their
North Star dog. Your generous donation of $5,000 will
sponsor a child's placement and allow it to begin immediately.
This level of giving will enable you to help select the child
you would like to support, if desired, and to follow your
placement's progress in the coming years
