Apollo is paired with boy named Zach, to help him with both his social as well as emotional goals. Apollo helps Zach to weather the small upsets of his day and to better relate to people in his neighborhood, school and synagogue.
 
Both Zach and his younger sister, Ellesse, are very involved with training Apollo to be "a good citizen," under the direction of Barbara Nagy, A.P.D.T., of Patience Unlimited. In preparation for his Bar Mitzvah in 2005, Zach’s goal is to have Apollo certified as a pet partner by the Delta Society, and take Apollo to the local children’s hospital and nursing homes for friendly visits.
